You didn’t think we could get through the Italy posts without at least one that features some food pics, did you? My Instagram is mostly food. I even spend most of my Instagram time looking at other people’s food pictures. Do you notice a theme here? 😆
I love Italian food. Love it. It’s one of my top four favorite foods. Japanese, Middle Eastern, and Thai (in no particular order) are my other favorites. I’d love to spend a month in Italy just trying out everything that I could. The hotel had a cart outside that had these amazing looking desserts, but Esther and I were always too full (either from breakfast at the hotel, or dinner somewhere near wherever we happened to be) to eat any of the delicious offerings. The amount of coffee shops, restaurants, and sweets shops were almost overwhelming, especially for someone like myself who loves food. This was not far from the hotel. How amazing do these look?
These cakes looked too pretty to eat (although if I wasn’t watching my wallet I definitely would have liked to attempt it.) I’m torn between the one that looks entirely made of berries and the red one on the right with a berry tart on top of it.
I don’t know what these are but they look incredible. Beautiful berries suspended in some kind of gelatin. Look at the presentation. Even the plate has berries scattered around it. Those beauties definitely didn’t need any help in enticing people walking by but it definitely helped.
Of course, no trip to Italy is completely without having gelato. I didn’t have any in Milan, but I did in Busto Arsizio and in Venice. That amarena looks so good! Those big beautiful cherries. That’s the kind I had when Esther and I went to Venice. When I can save up enough money I definitely intend to go back to Milan for at least a few days. I do want to see Rome and Sicily. Ahh, the body is willing but the wallet is not able.
Is this not every woman’s fantasy? I loved everything I saw in the windows. Of course, most of the fashion was way out of my price range but it was fun to window shop and I did come back to NYC with a lot of cute outfits and a gorgeous purse I bought in Venice.
Forgive me for posting another pic of the Duomo. It was just one of my favorite things to see when I was out wandering around.
The area around the Duomo was always packed, which is great if you’re into street photography. If I was I would have been in heaven. Even so, I did manage to take quite a few street style pictures. You know, for the memories. 😀
How gorgeous are those balconies? I’d love to have something like that except for all of the bees that it would attract. Every summer I always have at least one incident where a bee flies around me and I scream and run away. Yes, really. In public. In front of people.
I found the art that was all around Milan to be fascinating. As I’ve said, I love looking at art but actually doing in depth research makes me feel like I’m back in school. I know little bits here and there but I’m not like these people who can quote the entire life history of the artist and their work.
Here’s a shot of the church full sized. I’m not religious but there was something very special about seeing all of these beautifully built houses of worship. My mother would appreciate all of this. Maybe one day I can convince her to actually go with me. I love the way the light is hitting it as the sun is setting.
