The recent period of bad weather made going out to do any kind of street photography damn near impossible. I mean, it only takes me 15 minutes to walk to the train station when I go to work in the mornings and my fingers are so numb I can barely pull my MetroCard out of my coat pocket. When it finally warmed up a bit last week I decided to take full advantage and go out and try to get back into the swing of things. I also had to take this dress I got in Italy to the tailor so it gave me as good an excuse as any to walk around a bit.
Not used to having mild days, we were still all bundling up for those freezing temperatures. You never know when the weather will suddenly change. It could be gorgeous outside and within the hour it could go right back to freezing.
When I used to work around here I never really took any pictures. I suppose it is an interesting neighborhood but since I saw it everyday it started to just become the same to me. I wish I was still working around here. I loved the studio and my co workers and the people. It was a nice place.
I get being a little behind in cleaning over the holidays but if the windows are so dusty that people are actually writing in the dust in each window, it’s time to grab some Windex and some paper towels or an old rag.
What exactly is that? An ATV? It looks pretty cool but what are they doing with it in a big city?
I figure a cute puppy pic is as good a way to end this post as any. I’m so glad the weather has been warming up so that I can get out more. I was starting to go a bit stir crazy. I do this every year. When it’s summer, I can’t stand the heat and the sweating and having to take more than one shower a day (hey! I’m a bit of a germaphobe). I always say that I wish it was winter all year round because there’s no sweating, my (naturally curly) hair (which I straighten every day) stays smooth and straight, I can fall asleep faster, etc., etc. But then winter gets here and I can’t stand it because I’m stuck in the house when I’m not at work. I supposed spring and fall (or autumn depending on where you are in the world) would be nice to have year round, but I do kind of miss the changing seasons. I just wish the winter wasn’t so extreme.
