A Trip To Nutella Bar

A Trip To Nutella Bar

Looks like we’re going to have a few extra posts this week.  I generally like to stick to a posting schedule (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) but I was on a creative roll.  When I passed by this place last week when I went to Yo Sushi a few doors down, I knew I had to come back.  I love Nutella so when I saw they had a cafe that only served Nutella themed drinks and desserts I made a mental note to come back as soon as possible.  I had heard that it was difficult to find a seat there because the space wasn’t very big and it was very popular.  Luckily I was able to find a seat immediately.  As I was walking down to the end to get my Nutella latte, a family was just leaving so I quickly snagged that table.  Good thing I got the table when I did because about a minute after I sat down the place filled up.

I wound up having to go a different way than I was planning, which took me longer to get there, but I was able to get some interesting pictures so it’s all good.  I want every item in this window display.  It’s only going to get hotter and more humid outside and I’m all about keeping cool.

There are giant bottles of Nutella in the window and when you walk in, you see this display high on the wall to your left.

Over to your right, there are pictures on the wall of, (what I’m assuming is), the Nutella making process.35mm, a7Rii, color, Nutella Bar, NYC, posters, Sony

I may be biased but I have to agree.   😆 35mm, a7Rii, color, Italians do it better, Nutella Bar, NYC, Sony

The master at work.  They had a few different crepes going at once and they all looked so delicious.  You can get them with different fruit (I got bananas) and Nutella with either powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar.  I forgot to ask for powdered sugar (blame it on my excitement) but it was delicious even without any kind of extra sugar.

My Nutella latte was excellent.  The whipped cream and drizzle of Nutella added a delicious sweetness but my family knows my love of sugar so I had to add a few sugar packets.  My poor mother would cringe in horror at me adding extra sugar. When I got my coffee, a man and his baby daughter (maybe a year old) walked in, he looked at my coffee and he said to her “That looks good.”  They got a crepe and he gave her small pieces and she kept laughing every time he gave her a piece. She was so adorable.

The real star of the show.  Omg!  This was so good.  It was huge and I loved every bite.  Every bite I could eat.  It was so big that I couldn’t finish it but next time I go I’ll take some of the Michigan fam here and they can help me eat this thing.  Maybe next time I’ll get strawberries.

After Nutella Bar I had to do something to burn off those calories so I walked across the street and walked around Madison Square Park. The sky kept going from sunny to gray, and they had been predicting rain, so I couldn’t stay long but I managed to get some interesting pictures while I was there.

Apparently these pieces are part of something called Prismatic Park.

These pieces (especially the blue one) remind me of the Plinko game on the Price is Right.  Do they still do that?  I haven’t watched that show since I was a little girl and Bob Barker was the host.

It was starting to get a little too gray for my liking so I decided to head for shelter.  Shelter being Bath & Body Works which was nearby. 😆 Halfway there it started to sprinkle so I quickened my pace and got to B&B just in time.  I spent about ten minutes checking out some of the new scents and testing some of the old ones before I headed back out.  Luckily the storm was over.35mm, a7Rii, color, NYC, Sony

I know I said I was done with street photography but the group that I’m a part of is having it’s Photingo challenge and every picture has to have at least one person in it.  I was going for a graffiti/street art shot, but the guy caught me. I’m really out of practice.  I used to be pretty ninja like in my street shots.

My next stop was Sephora.  I had to go to three different Sephora stores and wound up just having to order the item I wanted.  I wanted another one of the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick eyeshadows, this time in the color Amethyst, but it was sold out in every store I looked.  I guess that color is really popular.  I saw this scene at the 5th Avenue & 19th St.  I just thought it was interesting how many of them were on the scaffolding.

I like looking at stickers that people stick places. Some of them make me laugh.  Some of them make me think. I might start a sticker series.  Some of them are really interesting.

I can’t even remember where I saw this because I did so much walking that day but I thought it was cool that they had the Ghostbusters symbol.  I used to be a major Ghostbusters fan back in the day.  I liked the second one the best because it had Ernie Hudson.  I like so many movies and shows that he’s in such as Congo, The Substitute (remember him as the principal? “Power perceived, is power achieved.” 😆 ), Oz.  I was so bummed when they killed him in Oz and during the last few episodes!  Wtf, man?

It was a fun day with lots of interesting things to see.  Doing other types of photography reminded me of why I like going out with my camera.  It’s something that should be fun.  If it stresses you out, it isn’t worth doing.  35mm, a7Rii, color, FDNY, fire engine, fire house, Ghostbusters, NYC, Sony

mmmm Nutella. A tip on how to save on the calories when eating Nutella…..eat it straight from the jar with a teaspoon and cut out the calories that the slice of bread or pancake would have :0)
I like the shot of the guys in the scaffolding, they kinda zig zag up the structure. As for the blue thingy in the park, it reminds me of a game I had when I was young called ‘Connect Four’.

Connect Four!! That’s exactly what it looks like. I even have that game in my hall closet from when my mom bought it for my niece when she was about 5 years old.

My Michigan fam is so down with going to Nutella Bar next time they’re in NYC. At least, my sister in law is down. 😀 I want to go back there on a Tuesday to try that donut that’s only available on Tuesdays. Is there anything more delicious than Nutella?
